All The Books I Can Read

1 girl….2 many books!

Top 10 Tuesday February 16th

on February 16, 2021

Hello and welcome back to another edition of Top 10 Tuesday! Hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl, it features a different bookish theme each week. This week it’s about Mardi Gras and books with yellow, green and/or purple covers in honour of that. I’m not American so I don’t actually really know much about Mardi Gras but I should be able to find some books with covers in those colours!

1. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder

This one gets double points because it’s both purple and green! I love this book – can’t believe I only read it last year after owning it for about 9 years. I ended up reading the whole Chronicles of Ixia series in a very short amount of time.

2. Faefever by Karen Marie Moning

I really love the first five books in this series. I refuse to believe anything that happens after that even exists. This one is definitely one of my favourite covers.

3. Across The Universe by Beth Revis

I didn’t really love this story but the cover is actually one of my all time favourites. I love it!

4. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Megan Spooner

I have owned this book for quite a while but I haven’t read it yet. Love the cover though!

5. The Dark Enquiry by Deanna Raybourn.

I realised that I have a few books with women on the cover wearing green dresses so I just decided to lean into it and choose some of those! I really enjoyed this series and thought that it probably came to an end at about the right time.

6. India Black and The Shadows Of Anarchy by Carol K. Carr

This is a series that if I remember, ended abruptly when the publisher declined any more from it, which was a huge disappointment to me because I found these books super fun and I loved India Black and French. And now I’ll never know what happens *sigh*

7. The Girl With All The Gifts by M.R. Carey

I haven’t read this but it’s been on my periphery for a while now. Fun fact: yellow is my least favourite colour and I’ve been known to avoid books with violently yellow covers because of it.

8. Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris

Haven’t read this one either, although it’s by choice haha. I really enjoyed the earlier novels in this series but I was spoiled for some of the events in the last 2 and now I’ve really no desire to finish the series off.

9. On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

One of my actual favourite books of all time. You can never get back the experience of reading this story for the first time, having it all unfold, putting the pieces together (having your heart ripped out multiple times).

10. We Unleash The Merciless Storm by Tehlor Kay Mejia

I thought for the last one, I’d try include something that had all the colours! I haven’t read this but it’s part of a duology and it seems interesting.

This is such a great list! You’ve got a bunch of books that I haven’t heard of, but the last one is basically made for this prompt! Plus, it’s a great series.

Some great reads there! I can’t remember if I gave up on the KMM books at the same point as you did but I have no interest in reading more.

Isn’t it disappointing when our favourite covers don’t hold the most amazing books?🤣

Great list! The cover of We Set The Dark On Fire caught my eye when it was first published so it was interesting to see the follow up on your list. I could instantly tell it was the same series too!

    Here’s my TTT

It’s strange because even though I’m not a huge fan of yellow either, half of the last 10 covers that were green, purple. or yellow were yellow!

And I live in the US and Mardi Gras isn’t a big deal where I live either.
