Top 10 Tuesday 19th December

Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme created and hosted by The Broke & The Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Top 10 Books I Hope Santa Brings

  1. Warcross by Marie Lu. I like the sound of this and I’ve heard mostly good things! I find the cover really eye catching. I’ve seen it a couple of times but I’ve always had other books in my hands to buy already!
  2. Terra Nullius by Claire G. Coleman. Hearing lots of really amazing things about this book, which is a story about colonisation but with a twist.
  3. Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley. Honestly, I don’t know why I don’t have this book yet. I think it’s been on my wishlist for years.
  4. Six Impossible Things by Fiona Wood. I don’t have this one because I can’t find it. Every time I go into a book store I can find the other two books linked to this one by Fiona Wood (both of which I already own) but I can’t find this one!
  5. Oblivion by Kelly Creagh. I liked the first 2 books in this series way more than I expected to and I think I was waiting so long for this one that I kind of forgot about it. It’s been out for a while now but I still haven’t picked it up. I want to finish the series and find out what happens to Isobel and Varen.
  6. All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Yeah, this is still on my wishlist! Feels like it’s been there forever.
  7. Caraval by Stephanie Garber. This sounds awesome. I’ve heard a lot of hype about it.
  8. The Upside Of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli. I loved Simon Vs The Homo-Sapiens Agenda so much so I really have no idea why I haven’t bought this or read it yet. Just too many books!
  9. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus. I actually came across this today whilst looking for something and I really want to read it. It’s the story of five teenagers going into detention but only four come out. Going to have to keep an eye out for it.
  10. Everything by Sarra Manning. I recently read You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me and It Felt Like A Kiss and I’m pretty obsessed. I have a need to devour her entire backlist.

Despite all the books I’ve listed here, I know that Santa won’t actually be bringing any of them to me for Christmas, mostly because I buy my own books and I already know what “Santa” will be bringing me haha. He’s bringing me three different books not listed here but these are definitely on my wishlist and if Santa is reading it….feel free to add one or two to my pile. I’ve been a good girl this year!

Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope you get some books you want in your stash of pressies, or a way to acquire some.

  1. I have read Warcross, All The Light We Cannot See and Caraval and I can firmly say that they are amazing books! You should definitely read ATLWCS as it is such a beautiful book, especially if you read and loved The Book Thief.

  2. Astilbe Reviews says:

I’ve heard good things about The Upside of Unrequited. I hope you get to read it soon and that you like it a lot.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!

I was really excited for ONE OF US IS LYING as well, but found it disappointing. I like YA mysteries, though, and hope it’s a trend that will catch on.

    Happy TTT!

  4. Caraval was one of my favourite books of this year, so I hope Santa brings it for you and you enjoy it!
