Book Blogger Hop

It’s Friday and the beginning of the weekend! πŸ™‚ That means it’s also time for the Book Blogger Hop hosted over at Crazy For Books. The Hop is a weekly book party where those who blog about books can get together, answer a quester and hop around to other blogs and share the love! This week’s question comes from Vicki, who blogs over at The Wolf’s Den:

How are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?

Ok well to be honest, I don’t follow blogs. I don’t use google friend connect or feed reader or whatever. I hop around to blogs from fun things like this, or from other book meme’s or I just follow links. If I find a blog I really like, I bookmark it. There are a few blogs I read every day and there are others in my faves list and when I have time probably once a week or so, I sit down and go through them and catch up on new posts. I also have no idea how many followers my blog has, if any! I read all my comments and I stop back at blogs who have commented me and leave comments too. I find new blogs this way also. When I’m hopping around I’ll often go back and read other entries after I’ve read their Hop question.

How about you? Are you a big follower? Do you have a large feed that gets out of control? Or do you just catch up on blogs individually when you can?

Happy weekend and happy hopping. Thanks to those who stop by!

When I was first blogging I used to bookmark sites, but using a feed reader changed that for me, because the feed reader means that I know when my favourite sites have updated, rather than clicking through and finding nothing new!

  2. Bev says:

I like following and having the feed reader–as Marg commented above, that way I know when my favorites have updated.

I do need to go through and weed out some that I haven’t been following as closely, though. I just don’t have time to read 100-150 blogs every day….Not if I want time to read my books. πŸ™‚

  3. I like the feed reader much more — using Google Reader has made it much more interesting and easier for me to see when people have posted something new. The bookmarks that I have — I don’t ever check via that route anymore! The Google Reader online has made it a cinch to stay on top of everyone’s new posts! Here’s my Hop: Coffee and a Book Chick — Blog Hop…

woot! high five! I don’t do the follower thing either and do the same thing as you. Also it’s great seeing another WordPress blog!!!! *waves happily*

I love the new grunge theme and was going to use it on my own blog…but I prefer the minimalist look instead πŸ˜€

    hi from the Hop!

I’ve got a handful of stuff in a reader, and it comes in handy. i have no idea how many followers I have, or if and when I lose followers. I’m still thrilled when my site stats say i got more than 10 hits in a day.

  6. Just Hopping by!

I have a pretty new blog, so it’s a let down when someone stops following. I like to hope it’s not my writing so much as we just don’t agree on the types of books we read.

Check out my blog hop post here.

Same here Bree – though I was feeling so worried I’d come across as snobby that my answer ended up being really long! I have a habit of over-thinking things and feeling like I need to justify more than I have. Should have just said “What Bree said!” and left it at that πŸ˜‰

I have started using Reader though, except that I don’t find it makes things much easier for me. I often forget to check it! So I’m late to reviews and posts and things. Ah well. I like your unflustered, uncluttered approach πŸ˜€

  9. Alley says:

Google Reader makes it really easy to keep track of all my blogs, whether they use Google Friend Connect or RSS or whathaveyou.

I only follow blogs if I like their content. I don’t like the “follow-for-follow” rule.

Happy Friday! I’m just doing my rounds on the Blog Hop and Follow Friday. I do have a large feed that get out of control sometimes but I love so many blogs I just have to follow so that I don’t miss anything. I also wanted you to know that I try to be a faithful follower and visit often. I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Reading!!

    I’m an old follower.

I don’t worry about the followers. I am just blogging for fun and my own entertainment!
