Book Blogger Hop

Friday has rolled around once again and that means it’s time for the Book Blogger Hop hosted over at Crazy For Books. This week’s question comes from Tina over @ Book Couture.

How do you spread the word about your blog? (Eg Social networking sites

Book blog directories, comments on other blogs, etc)

When I started this blog, I originally started it just for myself, so I had a record of each book I’d read for the year and what I thought about it. I certainly did not really expect any outside interest but once I’d discovered all the other many wonderful book review blogs out there, I started leaving comments. And then I started getting comments back! I’d say that leaving comments and visiting other blogs is what has brought me the most amount of visitors back to my blog, combined with doing these meme’s that work on visiting other blogs and leaving comments and having people visit your blog and leave comments. I also occasionally post a link on my Twitter account to my latest review or something like that but most of my hits don’t come from that sort of promotion.

How about you? Anything special you do to promote your blog?

I have a range of things I do to promote mine. But I don’t spend much time doing them all. Like you said, leaving comments and getting to know other bloggers is a great way to make people aware of your blog.

  2. Happy HOP!! I take part in alot of the weekly memes and as a result get alot of visits back. It’s been a great way to keep updated on what everyone’s up to and keep me connected with all the latest. Sometimes it’s a little time consuming because I try to visit everyone on the link list but it’s worth it 🙂 Happy reading!

Come HOP by my blog and visit

You know, same here. I made my blog as a way to keep track of what I read, because I realized through the years I’ve read and forgotten more books than I care to think about. Had only I been doing this all along!!!

But I too realized that there was this whole awesome world of reviewers out there, and I wanted to take part. More than that, I wanted on ARC tours!!!

So I got to work and began hopping and tweeting and blogging and reading.
I still write the reviews for me… but it’s so much more rewarding when other people comment saying something about how I’ve helped them find a new book, or avoid a bad one!

I started my blog because I was always reading and my friends were always asking me what I was reading. And I would always list so many books so I thought the blog would be a great thing. Then I realized there was a whole community out there!

I think commenting and memes have worked best for me out of everything I have done.

I started my blog to help me read through my bookshelf of unread books. I also needed it as a place to vent about what made me cringe/angry about the books lol. And then I discovered all the other cool blogs out there and I started commenting just like you!
So glad to have found your blog 😀

    Hop on by 😀

I have my blog tweet my blog updates automatically. Mostly though I use twitter for other things. Happy weekend. Come see how I use the social networks.

    Just hoppin’ on by! ❤

I pretty much do the same as you. I'm a new blogger, so I don't know of any OTHER ways to network. I link my reviews via tweet every so often, but mostly I just go to other blogs and comment on their things. If they come back to my blog, hey, great! If not, then it's no biggie. 🙂

Stopping by on the Hop. I’m not a very forceful blogger…I’m mainly here to have fun and find new friends through blogging. I enjoy seeing what others are reading and commenting and “visiting” through memes and hops and just reading/commenting on posts. But I doubt I’ll be signing up for blog lists or doing Twitter or anything like that.

  15. Mandy says:

Hey there! Stopping by on the hop … I like what you have going and look forward to seeing your future posts.

    Happy Reading! =)

  16. Shannon says:

Commenting, yes, it’s definitely the best method – especially when you want to make real friends and build book-nerd relationships! 🙂 I’m certainly happy to have found you – or did you find me? I can’t remember anymore!
